Jamie sat on the roof of her new mansion that she hated so greatly. Her and her sister had just moved from New Jersey to California. It was midnight, and the moon’s reflection sparkled off the pool’s calm water.
She looked up into the beautiful, dark sky, and jumped at the sound of her sister’s screaming voice. She ran across the roof and scrambled down the rope ladder.
“Heather!? Are you OK?”
“AAAAAAHHH!!!!” the blood-curling scream sent chills down Jamie’s vertebrae. Jamie went into a full-on sprint, running to her sister’s window. She nearly slammed into the glass window when the sight of a dark figure stopped her dead in her tracks.
“WHERE IS SHE!” the man yelled, as she pushed Heather onto the hard marble floor.
“I don’t know!” her innocence was breaking Jamie’s heart, and the sense of helplessness overwhelmed her.
Jamie ran to the sliding glass door and threw it open. She ran to her bedroom and tore her room apart searching for a weapon. She heard footsteps down the hall. She shivers every time he took a step. She heard the door handle shaking. She scrambled under the bed.The door slowly opened. Jamie’s teeth grinded together, of the sound of the door squeaking open. She covered her mouth so that she wouldn’t scream. All she could see were those huge black feet gliding silently across the bedroom floor and her sister’s pink & white heels struggling to go the other direction! Heather! She fought back the oh-so strong desire to jump out from under the bed and help her! But she knew it would do no good.
