I remember staying up all night trying not to fall asleep until…boom it was Christmas morning! I ran to my mom’s room and jumped on her bed and yelled its CHRISTMAS! She, my sister, and my brother hopped out of bed and ran down the stairs and saw all the shiny presents under the tree, I could smell the pine from the couch. Looking at the presents I could see one standing out from all the others. It was the biggest! I knew exactly what it was, a TRAMPOLINE! I was so excited. After we opened all the other presents we took it outside and started to build it. Once it was done, I got the first bounce. I could feel my brother and sister’s jealously as they watched me jump. Then they got on and jumped with me. I will never forget my first trampoline!

You may think that since i am from an Irish heritage that i was named after the longest river in Ireland, the River Shannon but I’m not. I’m named after a movie called “Far and Away”. Right before I was born there was a movie out about Irish people coming to America in the 1890’s. The movie starred Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise. Nicole Kidman’s characters name was Shannon. My dad really liked the movie and especially liked the character Shannon so he named me Shannon.
